Microsoft discontinues TLS 1.0 and 1.1 protocols in October 2020

Starting October 15, 2020, Microsoft is discontinuing TLS 1.0 and 1.1. Microsoft Office 365 will instead require TLS 1.2.
This change is because Microsoft, Google, Apple, and Mozilla no longer support the older versions of communication protocols for securely exchanging encrypted information between systems.

The change affects client applications including:

– Jeeves ERP
– Jeeves e-Attest
– Palette

and other software connected to send/retrieve email in Microsoft Office 365.
It also affects the Chrome, Internet Explorer, Edge, Safari, and Firefox browsers.

How does the change affect you?

If you currently use TLS 1.0 and 1.1, it will cause problems connecting to Microsoft Office 365 in applications including:

– Jeeves ERP
– Palette
– Readsoft

and all other software connected to send/retrieve email in Microsoft Office 365.

What happens if we disable TLS 1.0 and 1.1 at server level?

Disabling TLS 1.0 and 1.1 at server level may stop the database connection from working for:

– The Jeeves client
– Jeeves eAttest
– Inobiz data sources
– CrystalReport
– Excel connections

Upgrade to TLS 1.2
