We partner with Idrott Utan Gränser

— creating opportunities for children in disadvantaged areas

More children are growing up socially excluded and risk being drawn into harmful environments. To help bring about positive change, Systemstöd is beginning a partnership with the nonprofit organization Idrott Utan Gränser.

With locally rooted leaders and clubs, it offers free sports activities for children and young people. The partnership enables supervised activities in a safe environment, without any performance requirements or need for previous experience.

Fredrik Jansson, Systemstöd blog
— When children become socially excluded, it affects the whole community. I have been involved in sport for many years and know its tremendous power. It is not just about sport—you develop, challenge yourself, and become part of a community.

Experiences you carry with you throughout life. That is why we at Systemstöd are proud to support work that creates hope for the future, says Fredrik Jansson, Systemstöd's CEO and a father of two.

— For children in our areas, gangs may seem like a real option. That is why our leaders are so important: they have local roots, understand the challenges, and act as role models. They show that there are other paths.

Thanks to Systemstöd's support, even more children can experience the joy and community of sport and feel included. Our after-school activities, organized with local sports clubs, also lower the barriers to joining club sports, says Julia Montelius, operations director at Idrott Utan Gränser.

Role models who make a difference

Research shows that sport is a strong protective factor for children and young people, particularly when leaders have local roots and understand the children's reality. Children with structured leisure activities also have better opportunities to succeed at school.

Together, we create change

We both agree that real change requires collaboration among businesses, clubs, and society as a whole.

— Making a difference does not always require major efforts. Everyone can contribute—as a business owner, a leader, or a parent. Small, everyday actions often make the greatest difference in the long run, Fredrik Jansson concludes.

About Idrott Utan Gränser

Idrott Utan Gränser (IUG) is a nonprofit organization working with children and young people in disadvantaged areas at school, during leisure time, and during holidays. Through sport and positive role models, it inspires socially excluded children to lead active lives in a community and opens up more opportunities for their future.

IUG's approach uses sport and positive role models as tools and a force for change to lead inspiring sessions during schools' regular physical education lessons.

The organization also provides after-school and holiday activities in partnership with local clubs and organizations. Every child can try different sports, find inspiration, and be introduced to club activities. This makes sport accessible to children who otherwise would not have access, giving children in socially excluded communities opportunities for active leisure and belonging.
