Hydac AB
Hydac AB is a sales company focused primarily on hydraulic components for mobile and industrial applications. Its customers range from small businesses to paper mills and international machinery manufacturers such as Volvo and Atlas Copco.
The company
Founded in 1980, Hydac Fluidteknik AB is a Swedish subsidiary of Germany-based Hydac International GmbH. Its Bromma headquarters employs 25 people. Hydac also has several Swedish branches and a well-established dealer network, several of which also use Jeeves.
Chose Jeeves ERP
The existing ERP system, Gourmet, was not ready for the turn of the millennium, so the company looked for a replacement. It considered Scala, SAP, XOR and Jeeves, among others. Key requirements were an SQL database and openness to other systems. The system also needed to handle “packages,” as Hydac assembles its components. Alongside ease of use, commission-order management was another important requirement. Jeeves met these requirements best.
Jeeves ERP is used for
Jeeves ERP now supports Hydac’s logistics, manufacturing, service, project and financial processes. Jeeves also provides support for CRM and SRM. Integrations with vertical storage lifts have further increased efficiency in Hydac’s warehouse.
Beyond Jeeves customizations, the system’s openness has enabled Hydac to develop its own Word module for faxing and emailing order confirmations and invoices. An order confirmation is sent immediately after the order is entered and checked. Customers appreciate this service, which reduces returns and saves postage, time, paper and envelopes. Hydac also makes extensive use of Crystal Reports to provide Jeeves users with highly precise information for decision-making.
Hydac AS in Norway has used Jeeves since 2001, with the installation operated from Sweden. As implementation could use the Swedish installation as its foundation, configuration, conversion, customization and training were carried out in Sweden. Thanks to Jeeves’ unique architecture and a well-planned project, Hydac AS could start using Jeeves after a project lasting just three weeks.
