SSAB – uninterrupted EDI flow is critically important
When SSAB needed a new order-entry system to streamline order processing and simplify customers’ future ordering process, SSAB Oxelösund chose a system based on Jeeves ERP, with Systemstöd as supplier and implementation partner.
Background and integration platform requirements
SSAB introduced different IT environments and developed its own applications early on, leaving around 20 systems with different formats. They needed to communicate with each other and handle customers’ different external formats. Besides being continuously available to SSAB customers worldwide, the business-critical system had to be reliable and expandable for the future.

“Another requirement was handling enormous reconciliation files with hundreds of columns,” explains Fredrik Jansson, CEO of Systemstöd, who helped implement the system. SSAB’s field staff also needed to be able to text questions about stock levels and receive immediate answers.

Inobiz Integration Server was selected for its proven technology. “The scalability of Inobiz products is extremely important to us, because the customer must be able to grow with the system,” explains Fredrik Jansson. Its graphical interface makes monitoring easy and suits Systemstöd’s business specialists, who are not coders.

Systemstöd has worked with Inobiz systems since 1999 and appreciates both flexibility and fast service. “The staff recognize when matters are important, and we get to speak with the people who develop and know the systems,” says Fredrik Jansson.
Extremely little monitoring with Inobiz
The project was successfully completed at SSAB. Multiple Inobiz Integration Servers now run in parallel, as long queues must never block SSAB’s systems. IT staff initially feared extra workload because they would operate the solution themselves. After training, one person can now monitor and operate Inobiz, while an entire team is needed to monitor the old system components. That says everything about Inobiz’s ease of use!
