Roplan is an international industrial group specializing in the design, development and manufacture of mechanical seals and magnetically driven mixers. Its customers include major companies such as Alfa Laval and Rolls Royce.
The company
Since its founding in 1977, the company has grown into one of the world’s leading manufacturers and now has 135 employees in Sweden, England, the US and China. Its headquarters are in Tumba, outside Stockholm.
Since spring 2006, Roplan has used Jeeves ERP to support manufacturing, logistics, finance and aftermarket functions.
The change was prompted by an upcoming upgrade of the existing ERP system, Movex. However, upgrading Movex proved as costly as buying a new ERP system. That was when Jeeves entered the picture.
Selection criteria for a new ERP system
Roplan’s main criterion for a new ERP system was multi-company management (Multi Unit Coordinator). It needed a system that could handle manufacturing in one company and sales and invoicing in another. The solution’s price was also an important selection criterion.
Roplan chose Jeeves ERP based on these criteria and its high ease of use. The Jeeves consultants handling implementation were also knowledgeable, and there were no changes of consultant during the project.
Results of a new ERP system
The main result of Roplan’s move to Jeeves ERP is how easy it is to work in the system. Information is easy to find, with no need to export data to Excel to do the work. Jeeves also halved ERP costs, and its third-party applications are affordable. The main benefits are therefore lower costs, more efficient administration in finance and simpler reporting.
Customizations in Jeeves
Roplan has introduced many Jeeves customizations since the start. More recently, the company has aimed to remove as many customizations as possible during upgrades, with the ambition of using as much standard functionality as it can.
